Wouldn't hesitate to recommend this hotel. The interiors were well maintained and stylish. The dining areas were elegant. The staff were professional and friendly. Special shout out to Anna at the rooftop bar. The location was unbeatable for exploring the Amalfi coast - close to the port, close to train station, close to Corso Italia main street, close to bus stops. Our room with sea view on 3rd floor was large and well equipped. Minibar, room service, bath and shower, balcony, ironing board & iron, safe (everything you need). The super king size bed was one of the comfiest I have ever slept on and the pillows were heavenly. The air conditioning was efficient and easy to use. Fresh white towels were provided every day if required although bedding was not changed during our 7 day stay. The electronic shutter blinds were great and fully blocked out the light. However I would mention that the orange lights on the wall switches in the room disturbed sleep. Another negative was the toilet roll provided in the bathroom, it fell apart instantly due to low ply. During our stay we had a toilet that kept running water through the night but once this was raised to reception it was fixed promptly when we were out for the day and it was soon resolved. The room wasn't perfect and for this reason the hotel award of 4 stars is correct. Breakfast options were plentiful and fresh. As a vegan I did not struggle to find something to eat. They even offered prosecco if you so wished, but most mornings I opted for an English tea and soy milk. My partner very much enjoyed his cappuccinos. Dinner was more formal but had some of the nicest food we had tried on our trip. There was a separate vegetarian menu but perhaps more indications could be given for allergens/vegan/gluten free to make it clear for guests. There was no difference in portion size between the first course and second course, I personally struggled to eat both, so I just ordered 1 dish for the remainder of the week. You certainly will not be hungry after dinner in this restaurant. The staff were humorous and served with a smile always. We did not try dessert during our trip but the trio of desserts looked delicious. The swimming pools were too cold for my liking so we didn't swim but fresh towels were provided for all guests to use whilst sunbathing. The view on the rooftop for sunset was fabulous. Overall I would stay at this hotel again and recommend to friends & family.

The hotel itself is only a 10 min walk to the centre of Sorrento (no hills). It is impeccably clean and the staff are all polite. Our room (507) was spacious, bright, and had a beautiful view of Mt Vesuvius across the bay. The bed was super comfortable and the black out blinds worked too well! Breakfast was plentiful and offered naturally gluten free options - fruit, yoghurt, bacon, eggs (which were cooked freshly in any way you ask). The staff will also bring you an array of GF cakes, biscuits and sliced bread if you let them know. The courtyard garden at the rear of the hotel is a very pretty setting for breakfast. We didn’t eat dinner at the hotel as the options were limited, but we did use the bar and the rooftop bar - both good. We opted for the airport transfer service the hotel offers, and although a little more expensive than a taxi, the drivers were prompt, very polite, helpful and on time. We booked a few trips via a tour company and also explored Pompei by train (station was a 5 min walk from the hotel). The hotel is a great base to reach the town centre, the port, and the train station. We very much enjoyed our stay at the Grand Hotel De La Ville.
