Information about the Circumvesuviana Train Stations

Napoli Porta Nolana: this is the first station on the Circumvesuviana line, and trains for all routes depart from here. Commuters and other regulars know to board the train at this station to ensure they'll find seating. The stop is located not far from Piazza Garibaldi (Napoli Centrale); the easiest way to reach Napoli Porta Nolana from the Napoli Centrale is to take the Circumvesuviana from Napoli Piazza Garibaldi, travel in the opposite direction for a few moments, and then reboard a departing train once you arrive. There is an elevator and escalator in this station.
Napoli Piazza Garibaldi: this station is located on the lower level of the Napoli Centrale station, so is the most convenient option for those arriving by train from other locations in Italy or those departing from the city of Naples. There is no elevator or escalator. Getting around Naples.
Ercolano scavi: this is the station nearest the Herculaneum archaeological site; the entrance to the ruins is about 10 minutes on foot from the station. There is no disabled access either at the station or the Roman ruins.
Pompei Scavi: this is the station nearest the "Villa Dei Misteri" entrance to the archaeological ruins. The track for trains in arrival from Naples has disabled access, but the track for trains from Sorrento bound to Naples does not have disabled access. We do not recommend using this station for those needing wheelchair access to the Pompeii ruins since it is located quite far from the Piazza Anfiteatro entrance, which is where the wheelchair route through the ruins departs. There is a luggage check at the station. Ignore the guides and other offers for visits to the ruins at the station and instead proceed to the entrance to Pompeii where there are official guides (they wear wooden tags around their necks with the symbol of the region of Campania) that you can book for private guided tours.
Castellammare di Stabia: you can catch the funicular to the top of Mount Faito from here. There is no disabled access.
Vico Equense, Meta, Piano, Sant’Agnello: these stations on the Sorrentine Peninsula are located in the center of each town and are a quick ride away from Sorrento. They do not have disabled access.
Sorrento: The Sorrento station is the only one along the route that is completely accessible for those with limited mobility via an elevator. The friendly newspaper stand at the ground level sells a number of types of train and bus tickets or you can purchase a ticket from the Circumvesuviana ticket window on the upper level.
