During its more than 50 years of history, the Grand Hotel Riviera hosted a number of illustrious guests and celebrities at the end of the 1900's, when it was the only hotel in Sorrento overlooking the Bay of Naples and offering direct access to a private beach.
The guest rooms are small jewels, bright and decorated in a welcoming Mediterranean style. Guest can choose from a variety of room types, from economy to standard with a view of the garden, or rooms with a sea view, including the Junior Suite and the luxurious Suite Vesuvio.

The view is stunning and breathtaking- rooms are small although they have improved over the years with some small improvements- the dining experience is better than the past and is more local based and quality oriented but breakfast still vey cheap with no high quality products and in Italy this is not acceptable. Staff is very patient and friendly.

The Grand Hotel Riviera is located no more than a 15 minute walk from the main Sorrento square. The hotel also boasts one of the best views in Sorrento overlooking the bay of Naples and Mt Vesuvius whilst you are having breakfast, lunch, or just a quiet relaxing seat on the terrace. The hotel atmosphere throughout our weeks stay was very pleasant and the rooms (as was the hotel in general) were very clean and tidy at all times and have everything that you require (e,g kettle, wi fi, tv, safe, mini bar, daily top up of milk coffee etc) There are cheaper hotels in Sorrento but i don't think many could match the overall experience we had in the Grand Riviera. Last but not least, we wish to emphasise the exceptional service that we received throughout our stay and i can only apologise that i can't remember the names of everyone, there is one staff member with whom we will will always have fond memories of for her cheery smile and exceptional service in the restaurant and her name is Theresa (we would appreciate if the management would pass on our thanks to Theresa) Thanks once again to all at the Grand Hotel Riviera and hopefully some day we will be back.

What a beautiful, classy, stunning hotel. The hotel was one of the best I had ever stayed in .It was spotlessly clean throughout. All of the staff were so friendly , polite and very attentive at all times. Room was very clean and fresh towels were provided everyday and even a turn down service which was a nice touch! A lift in the hotel takes you down to sea level where there is a private jetty surrounded by sun loungers and access to the sea . The hotel had the most beautiful panoramic views over the Bay of Naples, and in the evening there was always live chilled music which made it very relaxing , a great combination. A big thank you to the hotel manager who was always helpful whenever we had any questions and was very friendly. we loved our stay so very much and we will certainly be back very soon . fant

With all the hotels in Sorrento, we are so happy we chose Grand Hotel Riviera. Beautiful clean hotel overlooking the Bay of Naples. We chose a premium sea view room that was recently renovated with beautiful tile floors, bright colors, comfy king bed, couch, large walk in shower and closet. We had 2 balconies with a sea view that sided to a lemon, olive trees, and mountains. Very Private and so clean. All of the hotel common rooms also breakfast room have beautiful views of the bay. The staff are the best. So helpful polite and kind. Helped us with dinner reservations, drivers and directions. Always greeted us with a smile. Breakfast buffet which is included was awesome, so much to choose from mimosas & made to order eggs . It was about a 10 min easy walk to Piazza Tasso. I would not hesitate to stay here again.

It would be hard to find a better location than that of Grand Hotel Riviera, right above the sea but practically in the center of Sorrento. The charming lanes of the historic center and the port with ferries for day trips to the islands in the Bay of Naples are just steps away. Sorrento is the ideal base for visiting the Amalfi Coast and Pompeii.
