A 17th century palazzo with a pool

  1. Right in the center of Sorrento

  2. A panoramic pool on the top floor

  3. The atmosphere of a historic palazzo

In the heart of Sorrento's historic center, just steps from Piazza Tasso, the Boutique Hotel Palazzo Guardati occupies an early 17th-century building, carefully restored to combine period charm with four-star comfort. Murano glass chandeliers, fine marble and parquet floors accompany guests throughout the property's 23 rooms.

Three room styles to choose from

Rooms are divided into three categories: the Classic Room, warm and furnished in Florentine style, with a marble bathroom and tub or shower; the Superior Room, with Murano chandeliers, parquet floors and a French balcony in double and triple rooms; and the Deluxe Room, the most exclusive category, with a balcony overlooking Piazza Tasso and the Bay of Naples, furnished with a table and chairs to enjoy the view while seated. All rooms include air conditioning, free Wi-Fi, a minibar, a safe and a smart TV with satellite channels.

Rooms are also available as double, triple or quadruple (Superior) and single, double or triple (Deluxe), to suit every kind of trip.

A Pool in the Center

Not all historic hotels in the center of Sorrento have a pool and sundeck! The one at Palazzo Guardati sits on the hotel rooftop, with a view stretching across the Bay of Naples all the way to Mount Vesuvius. The rooftop is fitted with sun loungers and umbrellas, plus a poolside snack bar for a bite or a drink up top. For an extra bit of pampering, an in-room massage can be arranged on request.

Only bad thing I can say is about the parking, horrible. The whole area is the same if not worse. The hotel is centrally located smack dab in the middle of everything. Very pleasant and helpful staff. Rooftop pool area is very relaxing just like the 1st floor living room.

My first time in Sorrento and I will be back. The location of the hotel is perfect, right in the center beside numerous restaurants and shops, you could not get any closer. The staff are all lovely and very helpful when booking taxi's, trips etc. The breakfast is lovely and substantial. The rooms are so clean and cleaned every day. The one person who stood out is Pepe, the bartender on the rooftop bar, he helped me when tying banners for our Friend's 60th birthday and bought the champagne and canapes right on time, an asset to the hotel. I will be recommending this hotel to everyone travelling to Sorrento.

If I could give more than 5 stars I would! This was my first trip to the charming country of Italy and words cannot begin to describe the immense pleasure I had visiting such an endearing paradise on Earth. My sister and I spent 10 incredible days in Sorrento and explored the incredible areas from there. The island of Capri was quaint and Pompei was a hauntingly fascinating place trapped forever in a moment in time. But, the place that holds my heart forever more is the town of Sorrento. I came to that charming village in desperate need of a break from life and it not only filled my cup with peace, joy and happiness but has given me memories I shall carry with me forevermore. We stayed at the delightful Hotel Palazzo Guardati located in the heart of the town square. The staff at this charming hotel were kind, courteous, and always willing to help their guests out. They helped us arrange for a private driver to/from the airport and eagerly offered up recommendations for local restaurants and activities. In addition, we had the absolute pleasure of spending time with their accomplished bartender, Pepe, who takes the time to get to know the guests, understand what their tastes are and to offer up treats and drinks that makes their stay a true enjoyment. I shall return again to this hotel in the future and to spend time in my new home away from home, Sorrento. Until then, nonostante la distanza, sei sempre nel mio cuore.

Our stay at the Guardati was wonderful. Excellent location, within walking distance to everything we wanted to see in Sorrento. The hotel is clean and the staff was wonderful. Good breakfast every morning, and Pepe was a friendly bartender. Our room was suitable in size for a couple. Would certainly return to the Guardati if we make it back to Sorrento.
