This hotel is the best value in Sorrento. Historical charm, perfect location, classy and elegant. You feel very special which hard to get nowadays. Exceptional service, they will accommodate your every request, like parking your car, which is impossible to do on your own in Sorrento. You stay like in a Nobel residence but it has all modern and luxurious features. Fantastic breakfast, definitely cooked in small batches and with love!

Elegant Stay at Palazzo Marziale

Palazzo Marziale was the perfect place to stay on our first visit to Italy. Its location, right in the heart of Sorrento and just one minute from the lift, could not have been more convenient. Our room was spacious, beautifully decorated, and featured a marble bathroom with plenty of counter space and a luxurious double shower. We were delighted to have a Juliette balcony where we could watch the sunrise each morning—and even witnessed three weddings during our stay! The breakfast room was small but charming, and since we were up early, it was never crowded. Breakfast itself was delicious, with a wide variety of options including eggs, bacon, crepes, and pastries that changed daily. The staff even offered “to-go” boxes for mornings when we needed to leave before the scheduled breakfast time. Every member of the staff was warm and welcoming. Someone was always available to answer questions or greet us after a long day exploring the coast. Simona, in particular, was incredibly helpful—even before our arrival—by providing information about local tours, transportation, and patiently answering all of my questions. Their restaurant recommendations were also excellent. We would not hesitate to stay at Palazzo Marziale again on our next trip to Sorrento—and I truly hope that will be soon.

Don't think about it. Just book it. Absolutely stunning Hotel, beautifully restored and elegant. Stayed with 2 teens in the Marziale suite. Breakfast is delicious and a good deal relative to restaurants in town. Excellent location

Rudely Owner

Unfortunately, our experience at Palazzo Marziale was overshadowed by an extremely unpleasant and embarrassing incident that deeply affected the atmosphere of our stay — especially as we were on our honeymoon. We were treated rudely and ungraciously by the hotel’s owner herself, who approached us in a harsh manner and forced us to leave a common area, claiming it was reserved exclusively for bar service — yet there was no menu available at the location, nor any clear signage indicating such a restriction. At the time, we were simply enjoying a glass of Brunello di Montalcino, purchased during our trip through Tuscany, in a quiet and meaningful moment for us. To make matters worse, despite the hotel not being pet-friendly, the owner herself would walk around the premises accompanied by a dog — revealing a clear inconsistency between the rules imposed and her own behavior. This public rejection left us not only uncomfortable but also disappointed by the total lack of hospitality, tact, and coherence expected from a hotel of this category. It was disheartening to see our honeymoon — a special and memorable occasion — so carelessly dismissed. For these reasons, we cannot recommend this hotel and would not return.
