Had the most perfect time at the Royal, from the minute we arrived the staff were so friendly and attentive. The Hotel is beautiful, italian marble and modern facilities. We were upgraded from a luxury suite to a Royal Junior suite with a view and Jacuzzi which made our stay even more incredible. The Pool is large and beautiful, great sunbeds and Beach area too is fabulous , the staff on Beach area and Beach Restaurant their were so attentive and worked so hard to make our stay memorable. Bring your snorkels as we did this everyday and saw good range of fish. I was here with my Husband and 13 year old son and he was not bored and loved it. We were so sad to leave but we will be back

Not a 5* experience

What an underwheming and disappointing stay.Let's start with the room, one wardrobe base was made of cheap wood, painted but badly scuffed, badly cracked floor tile and scuffed door to the balcony. We booked a sea view room, but from the 1st floor this is not a full view and you look down on to the dining room roof. Now for the worst bit,we went for lunch on the terrace,we were eating a toastie and my husband suddenly spit something hard out, looked like a presstud. After reporting it to the manager,it turned out to be the date tag from a bag of mozzarella! We wouldn't have eaten there again, but my husband had been ill for 3 days and didn't want to leave the hotel,so we ordered rabbit ragu. This time I was halfway through and I spit something hard out,I thought it was a rabbit's tooth, but my husband said it was bone.Reported it again but no apology. We are in our 70's and have never ever had 2 experiences like this. Pool needed a bit of tlc one American gentleman we spoke to had been collecting the loose mosaic tiles and leaving them in little piles on poolside. There was an issue with people reserving sunbeds at 6am,we watched them,so after 2 mornings of no sunbeds left and no one occupying them, complained to front desk, signs were put up and that problem was solved. On our last night there was a wedding party with very loud booming bass music,no thought given to the guests actually paying to stay there. Staffwise, most just average, but to end on a good note,a mention must go to the lovely lady who cleaned our room, think she was called Rosalisa, dark blond curly hair, who always had a smile on her face. Overall though a poor experience and not worth half the money we paid.

Fantastic stay at Grand Hotel Royal Sorrento -- 5 Star!

We stayed at the Grand Hotel Royal in Sorrento in July 2026. We had three rooms for 5 kids and 2 adults. This resort is incredible. The service was fantastic, property was beautiful and rooms were large and most important, the AC was high functioning and quiet. The beach club and pool are both great. Food at all the restaurants was fantastic and breakfast buffet was also top notch. The location is also perfect. Walking distance from everything but slightly set off the main commercial area so hotel is more quiet. A 5 star experience for sure. I would stay here again no question.

The hotel is stunning, the location unbeatable, and the service consistently excellent. Housekeeping was impeccable, keeping our room spotless and well-stocked throughout our visit. A special thank you to Giaccomo, who went out of his way to make our stay memorable with his warmth, attentiveness, and genuine hospitality. We would happily return!
