The location is superb. We booked a sea view and it did not disappoint. The room was nice, clean & had all we needed. It is expensive to stay at the hotel, but it was a special occasion and given it is Sorrento in peak season it was to be expected. All the bars and restauants were also expensive. We were on a higher floor so noise was not a problem. There was an elevator to the beach which was great. The beach was packed out due to it being August and to hire sunbeds and parasol was also expensive but it was yours for the whole day. Thank you to Veronica and all the staff who were faultless, always ready to help with a smile and the service thay all provided was excellent.

Underwhelming- would not recommend

The location was perfect. The patio and view was lovely! That said, the front desk staff was underwhelming and not friendly. We had to ask for multiple items to be restocked in the room. The bathroom was extremely small. The major concern was the drone flying directly above it on the patio one evening, which is a massive violation of privacy. I would not recommend this hotel overall.

The Hotel Continental is in the style of classic Grand Hotels, and it mostly lives up to that standard, including twice-a-day room service. We had a medium-sized room with an incredible view of Naples Bay and Mount Vesuvius. The bathroom was modest. It has an old-fashioned bathtub/shower and a bidet. The bed was fine, and the room was only noisy when the wind blew. In that case, you could close the electronically controlled shutters to stop the noise. The desk is a good size, but it has only one plug and no USB ports. In fact, that desk plug is the only one accessible in the bedroom. There are no plugs on the nightstands, but there is one in the bathroom. This is barely acceptable. I just can’t understand why hotels with insufficient plugs can’t install a power strip with plugs and ports. Still, the Internet worked well, and with the cords and plugs I bring, I can survive with one plug. Another small problem is that all the plugs shut with the lights and AC when you leave the room. That means you can’t leave anything to charge in your absence. Breakfast was okay (with a live piano player!). Overall, service was excellent. The front desk was very responsive. There's a decent but small gym (not much used by the hotel's older clientele) and a swimmng pool. Noteworthy items. There’s a scale in the bathroom. Can’t remember ever seeing one in a hotel room before. And one more. As is often the case, the tub/shower is a bit slippery. There’s a grab bar (too often absent in hotels) in the right place, but that’s not enough. What’s new is that there are flip-flops in the bathroom. Wear them and you don’t have to worry about slipping. What an interesting approach to a familiar problem. The flip-flops are uncomfortable, but they work. The biggest problem with the room is the air-conditioning. You can turn the thermostat up to 27 or 28 (80+) Fahrenheit and the AC stays on. In the end, I just turned it off entirely. Given that it’s autumn, no AC is really needed. But somehow either the staff or something turned the AC back on from time to time. This was just a mild annoyance, but it kept turning itself back on at times. I might have a different view here if it were the height of the summer. Overall, we were happy enough in this hotel, and we would return here if in Sorrento again.

We stayed here because of location we were pleasantly surprised withthe quality of the rooms, breakfast and staff. As soon as we arrived from the car the staff took care of the luggage taking it to room. Breakfast was in a large banquet room with all kinds of pastries eggs and wonderful espresso and cappuccino. Bathrobe’s and slippers and turndown service with chocolate on the pillows. We were very pleased.
