All the colors of the Mediterranean right on the coast

  1. A one-of-a-kind beach house

  2. Huge picture windows and views from every room

  3. A staircase directly down to the water's edge

Red, indigo, blue, green: La Minervetta is a lighthearted mix of bright tones, making this boutique hotel just minutes from the center of Sorrento an unmistakable splash of color right above the sea near Marina Grande and its fishing village. Echoed by the shades of the sea and sky, La Minervetta's colors change according to the quality of light during the day, ranging from the deep blue of the Mediterranean to the fiery reds of the sunset. Together with the unique color scheme, the hotel also holds a collection of memorabilia from over 50 years of hosting travellers to Sorrento, making it one of the most characteristic accommodations along the coast. Today, a boutique hotel with 12 rooms and suites awarded two MICHELIN Keys, the property was reacquired in 2006 by the grandson of the founders, who ran the legendary Minerva bar and restaurant during Sorrento's dolce vita years of the 1950s.

Your Beach House

The resort atmosphere and sea air permeates all of La Minervetta. The rooms all have a view over the Bay of Naples and Vesuvius through the breathtaking picture windows, which are flooded with light and crisp sea breezes from the first light of day. The warm color scheme of blues and reds makes the guest rooms particularly warm and friendly, and the quirky furnishings and decorative touches reflect the offbeat tastes of your hosts. Junior Suites also feature two panoramic balconies.

Each morning, you'll be awakened by the smell of coffee and fresh-baked goods that wafts through the entire hotel from the kitchen, which is the heart of La Minervetta. Savor your breakfast while drinking in the stunning views for the perfect start to every day.

From Your Room to the Beach

Settle in and relax on the large terrace of La Minervetta, with its VIP view of the Bay of Naples stretched out before you, including Mount Vesuvius on the horizon. From just below, you'll hear the bustle of the fishing village of Marina Grande, which you can reach by climbing down the staircase to the water's edge, passing the lush garden and a pool carved directly into the cliff face. The hotel welcomes guests aged 15 and up.

Absolute gem. Have returned here for 5 years in a row. Beautiful views, treated like family, feels private and exclusive yet not over the top. Great breakfast, drinks and snacks - tomatoes to die for. Feels like staying at a friends home. They know all the best places to go - once you look beyond the touristy stuff in Sorrento there are amazing places in this area. Can’t wait to come back next year.

Wow! The view is absolutely breathtaking, the service is perfect and the room are very well acquainted! You cannot find a more relaxing atmosphere and really can just sit out on the terrace and stare at the beautiful water for hours at a time. The breakfast is delicious. We found ourselves enjoying the walk into Sorrento every day/evening and loving our walk back to La Minervetta knowing how tranquil it would be once we arrived. We stayed here 3 nights and enjoyed every minute. We wish we had ventured into their gift shop a little bit down the street from the hotel. They have art work around the hotel and every room has some unique pieces. The store carries some of the dinnerware you will be using at breakfast and it really would have been nice to bring a few bowls home - maybe on our next visit because we certainly will come back to La Minervetta whenever we come to Italy!

This hotel has two Michelin keys for a reason, they are well earned! Not glamorous as some of the amalfi or capri hotels. Elegant and quietly luxurious. Stylish rooms with gorgeous views across the bay of Naples. Impeccable service. Floriana exudes warmth and hospitality Truly a special place. Can’t wait to return.

Breathtaking, perfect, luxury, relaxing, gorgeous....I can't even find all the words. From the moment, my friends and I walked in, we were just awestruck by the beauty of the hotel, the friendliness and down-to-earth warm of every single person who worked there, and the overall experience. The balcony and our room overlooked Vesuvius...to wake up in the morning or sit with an afternoon cocktail or to retire at night to this spectacular view is very moving and memorable. The breakfast is next level incredible. Every afternoon, they put out a spread with afternoon cocktails, wine, etc. that is incredible. Truly, when we saw it, we could not believe it was included in our stay. Truly, we could not have enjoyed our stay more and it was really, really hard to leave. Pure magic every minute. A++++++++
