Palazzo Marziale

We had an absolutely incredible stay here at the Palazzo Marziale! Leading up to our trip the communication with the hotel was very prompt and so friendly. I was looking forward to meeting the staff when we got there! The room was extremely comfortable (even the extra sofa/bed was comfy)! Loved the location, a super close stroll to the waterfront. The homemade breakfast each morning was delicious and I loved all the pastries! An early morning coffee machine would be nice though...for us early risers. The front desk was so helpful in setting up our transportation to and from, boat trips and a day trip to Pompeii. Loved EVERYTHING about this place and I can't wait to come back soon!

Palazzo Marziale was, without question, the best hotel I have ever stayed in. From the moment we arrived, the ambiance was elegant, welcoming, and uniquely Italian. The level of service exceeded every expectation. Every staff member provided truly white-glove customer service and made us feel valued throughout our stay. We took advantage of both the breakfast and laundry services, and both were exceptional. The breakfast was outstanding, with fresh, delicious options each morning, and the laundry service was prompt and convenient. The location is perfect—just steps from the ocean views and within easy walking distance of Sorrento’s shops, restaurants, and charming town squares. We were able to explore everything with ease while enjoying a peaceful and luxurious retreat. If you’re considering a stay in Sorrento, I cannot recommend Palazzo Marziale highly enough. It was an unforgettable experience, and I would return without hesitation.

What a beautiful place to stay. Our experience was the best. From the front desk, to the restaurant and housekeeping - we couldn’t have asked for better service. Our room was beautiful. Large outdoor patio. Clean comfortable beds. Clean well stocked refrigerator. Bathroom was well stocked with the exception of face cloths. There wasn’t any. Beach towels were provided.,The hotel helped with drivers to and from airport and from hotel to Rome. They helped plan our day trips. They even helped with our 50th Anniversary celebration with a lovely cake and a bottle of Prosecco. The hotel is in a perfect area, close to water and to shops and restaurants. We loved it here and hope to return someday.,

Everything about this boutique property — from the warmth of the staff to the beauty and history of the building — made our time in Sorrento unforgettable. From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed with genuine hospitality. Each morning it was a joy to come downstairs and be greeted by Colomba, whose warmth, smile, and effortless professionalism set the tone for the day. She was consistently helpful, personable, and attentive. Colomba arranged our Amalfi Coast driver and a wonderful agricultural tour, both of which became highlights of our trip. She is truly exceptional and deserves special recognition. We were also fortunate to meet the owner, who grew up in this building when it was still the family home. Knowing that history — and seeing how lovingly the property has been preserved — added something very special to our stay. Our Junior Suite was spacious, modern, and beautifully maintained, which is remarkable considering the building dates back to 1492. The room was spotless, comfortable, and thoughtfully attended to each day. And a rare luxury in Europe: the room temperature control actually works, keeping the room exactly where you want it. Breakfast was another standout. The same person made our coffee each morning, and the chef clearly takes pride in preparing a variety of fresh, delicious dishes. It felt more like being welcomed into someone’s home than eating in a hotel dining room. With only 13 rooms, Palazzo Marziale offers an intimate experience where every guest receives personal attention. The small staff operates with a level of care and professionalism that made us feel truly valued. There are also several inviting spaces to relax in beyond the room — a lovely lobby, a comfortable living room, a spacious terrace, and a cozy lounge area near the breakfast room. The location is extraordinary: tucked just far enough from the busiest part of town to feel calm, yet only steps from the elevator and stairs leading directly down to the harbor. It’s also perfectly central for exploring Sorrento on foot. If you are looking for a hotel that combines history, elegance, comfort, and heartfelt hospitality, Palazzo Marziale is exceptional. We will remember our stay here for a very long time, and we recommend it wholeheartedly.
