Very Disappointing and Poor Value for Money

Very Disappointing and Poor Value for Money My son and I booked this private boat trip from Sorrento to Capri because it was advertised as a small-group experience with a maximum of 12 people on board, a guide, refreshments including soft drinks and beer, a sandwich lunch, snorkelling equipment, and a visit to the Blue Grotto. We expected a relaxed and enjoyable way to see the coastline before spending some time in Capri and then returning to Sorrento. Unfortunately, the experience fell far short of what was advertised. We arrived at the designated time, only to find complete chaos. We were left waiting for almost two hours before our boat was available. During this time, nothing was offered to guests, not even a drink, despite repeated apologies from staff. We later discovered that delays like this appear to be quite common for this company. Once we finally boarded, the situation did not improve. Despite the advertised refreshments, nothing was offered until my son specifically asked for a beer. He was then told that beer was not included in the trip, contrary to what had been advertised. The only refreshments we received throughout the day were bottles of water. The captain did point out a few sights along the coastline, but because he was driving the boat and speaking without any microphone or amplification, only the passengers sitting close to him could hear what he was saying. Most of us missed the commentary entirely. Perhaps the biggest disappointment for many passengers was the Blue Grotto. This was included as part of the advertised experience and was one of the main reasons several people on board had booked the trip. Once we were out at sea, we were informed that a visit would not be possible due to tidal conditions. While we appreciate that safety and sea conditions can affect access, tides are predictable and this should surely have been known well before departure. By this point, given everything else that had happened, I was no longer surprised, but many other passengers were understandably frustrated as the Blue Grotto was the highlight they had specifically paid to see. We also stopped for a swim, but there was no snorkelling equipment as advertised. The boat only had a few pairs of goggles, and there weren't even enough for everyone who wanted to go in the water. People had to share them, which was far from the snorkelling experience we had paid for. When we arrived in Capri, the advertised lunch turned out to be a soggy tomato and cheese roll and another bottle of water. It was extremely disappointing and nowhere near what we had expected based on the description of the trip. On our return, we raised our concerns with the company, but received no meaningful response, apology beyond the standard excuses, or compensation. While the boat ride itself was pleasant enough and Capri is beautiful, the trip was simply not worth the €140 per person we paid. For a fraction of the cost, you can take the ferry to Capri and have a very similar experience without being misled by promises that are not delivered. Overall, this excursion felt seriously misrepresented. We paid a premium price for refreshments, lunch, snorkelling equipment, guided commentary and a Blue Grotto visit that either never materialised or fell well below expectations. In reality, we paid €140 each for bottled water, a soggy roll and a delayed boat ride to Capri. Very disappointed, feeling completely out of pocket, and would not recommend this trip to anyone. ★☆☆☆☆ (1/5)

Overall, im happy we got to see the Blue Grotto but the overall experience was just "ok". For starters, the price of the boat tour itself is not super reasonable then, you have to pay for marina pick up ($100 eu) and then you have to pay for fuel ($300 eu). The tour advertises several sights that you will see but we really only hit 2-3 stops, on top of it, our skipper wasn't very informative (super quiet). As we were heading to the Blue Grotto, he tried to convince us not to go because it was going to be a long wait. Somehow, we paid another $200 eu to get in due to the wait; we were in there maybe 60 seconds and I lost my credit card when transferring from one boat to the next. Which was not obvious until our stop for lunch, our skipper pulled out his card without hesitation (we sent him $ via Paypal), for that we were incredubly grateful since the card was lost at sea. However looking back at our photos, the excursion was super rushed, we didnt hit many spots, didn't get much info, even the famous photo in front of the Faraglioni rocks, he cut off half the rocks so we dont even have a decent photo. :( Lastly, the boat looked like it was on its last leg, it was so bad. This is definitely too much for a cruise stop, since you have to ferry over and I would not book this tour again even when we come back. Instead book there locally and find a boat that looks the part with the right crew. Again, our skipper saved us at lunch and we took care of him; I will also say the staff were super responsive when booking but we've had wayyy better excursions similar to this in the past for $1500.

Beautiful scenic day trip from Positano to Capri

Enjoyable day trip from Positano to Capri. Great for sightseeing and pictures. Lorenzo our boat captain was a great guide. We stopped at Spiaggia di Marina Piccola area for lunch. After lunch we took a short 10 mins bus ride to the main town of Capri for a walk through the designer shops area. Some nice viewpoints for pictures there also.

We had an amazing group boat tour to Capri from Sorrento! Everything was very well organized, and the entire experience exceeded our expectations. Our guide, captain was friendly, knowledgeable, and made sure everyone felt welcome throughout the trip. The information and recommendations were excellent and really enhanced our experience. We highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Sorrento!
